Irish Rail or
Iarnród Éireann (part of the CIE group of companies) provide train services in Dublin and the rest of Ireland. Train services are available between Dublin and most of the other main cities of Ireland via the Intercity service. Intercity - Countrywide rail service provided from Dublin to
Belfast, Sligo, Ballina, Westport, Galway, Limerick, Ennis, Tralee, Cork, Waterford and Rosslare Europort plus other stations in between. The two main stations where these are provided from in Dublin are Connolly and Heuston Stations.
DART - The DART line is an electrified train service which runs along the coast of the city from Howth in the North to Bray in the South. This is a regular service which would usually run less than every ten mins during busy hours.
LUAS - The Light Rail Transit System in Dublin called LUAS is a tram service which operates on separate tracks as well as over the roads in congested areas. There are two lines, the red and the green. The red line goes from the city-centre to Tallaght in Southwest Dublin while the green line runs from the city-centre to Sandyford in Dublin South.
